1Who we are & agreeing to these terms
PlayerVault is made by PlayerVault Ltd, a company registered in England & Wales under company number 13160985, with its registered office at 61 Bridge Street, Kington, HR5 3DJ, England. When these terms say “we”, “us” or “our”, that’s who we mean. “You” is the parent or guardian using the app.
These terms are the agreement between you and us for using the PlayerVault app and this website. By creating an account or using the app, you’re telling us you’ve read them and you agree to them. If there’s a bit you’re not happy with, please email us before you sign up — and if you don’t agree, that’s completely fine, but you won’t be able to use PlayerVault.
2Who can use PlayerVault
PlayerVault is for grown-ups looking after children, not for children themselves. To hold an account you must:
- be 18 or over; and
- be the parent or legal guardian of the child whose football journey you’re recording.
Children don’t get their own accounts and can’t log in themselves. A child is the person the memories are about — never the person in charge of the account. If you’re not the child’s parent or legal guardian, PlayerVault isn’t the right tool for you.
3What PlayerVault does
PlayerVault is a private iOS app for parents and guardians to capture, organise and preserve a child’s grassroots football journey — the photos, videos, milestones and club history that would otherwise get lost in a camera roll. It’s a keepsake, built to be looked back on for years. It isn’t a social network, and nothing you put in it is public.
4Your account & keeping it secure
You’ll need an account to use PlayerVault. Please give us accurate details when you sign up and keep them up to date. You’re responsible for what happens under your account, so keep your sign-in details and your device secure — the memories in here are precious and personal.
If you think someone else has got into your account, tell us as soon as you can at hello@playervaultapp.com and we’ll help you put it right.
5You as the account holder
The vault is yours to run. You decide what goes in, you can change or remove any of it whenever you like, and you can take a full copy or close the account outright. Today you are the only person who can see your account — sharing it with anyone else isn’t possible yet, and when it is, you’ll be the one who decides who sees what. In privacy terms, PlayerVault Ltd is the data controller for the information the app holds about your child, which means we are answerable for how it is stored, protected and otherwise processed — our Privacy Policy sets out exactly what that covers and the rights that come with it.
With that control comes a responsibility, and it’s an important one:
- You confirm you have the right to upload images and videos of your own child.
- If other children appear in what you upload — teammates, opponents, friends — you’re responsible for having whatever permission is needed from their parents or guardians before you add them, and for using those images sensibly and only within your own family’s vault.
- You’re responsible for any other consents the law requires for the content you add.
We can’t give this permission on your behalf, and we trust you to look after other people’s children in your content the way you’d want yours looked after.
6Subscriptions & payments
Paid plans are not on sale yet. Everything in PlayerVault is free at the moment, and we do not collect any payment details. The plans below are what we intend to offer, and we’re setting them out now so there are no surprises later. There will be a 7-day free trial on the paid plans so you can try before you commit.
Free
Parent Premium
or £49.99/year
Family Premium
or £89.99/year
When paid plans go on sale, they will be purchased and billed through the Apple App Store using your Apple Account — we never see or handle your card details. The terms below will apply to them from the day they become available.
Auto-renewal — please read
Paid subscriptions renew automatically. Unless you cancel, your plan will renew at the end of each period and your Apple Account will be charged the price above for the next period.
Your Apple Account is charged when a trial ends and rolls into a paid plan, and again at the start of each renewal. Renewal happens unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the current period ends. If you’re on a free trial and don’t cancel at least 24 hours before it ends, it becomes a paid subscription automatically.
You can manage or cancel your subscription any time in your App Store account settings (Settings → your name → Subscriptions on your iPhone). Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep your paid features until the end of the period you’ve already paid for.
Refunds are handled by Apple under the App Store’s terms, not by us — if you’d like a refund, please request it through Apple.
7Your content
Your memories are yours. You keep full ownership of everything you add to PlayerVault — the photos, videos, captions and milestones. Adding them here doesn’t change that.
To actually run the app for you, we need your permission to handle your content in a few limited ways. So you grant us a limited licence to store, process and display your content — but only so we can provide PlayerVault to you, and to anyone you later choose to share a vault with. That’s the whole extent of it. To be completely clear:
- We never sell your content or your family’s data.
- We never use it to train machine-learning or AI models.
- We never make it public — today it stays private to you alone, and it will only ever be seen by people you deliberately invite.
The licence lasts only as long as you keep the content in PlayerVault. When you delete something, or close your account, that permission ends too.
8Family Sharing
Family Sharing is not available yet. Today, the account holder is the only person who can see a child’s vault. There is no way to invite anyone, and nobody else can reach your memories.
We are building it, and this is how it is intended to work when it arrives. On Family Premium, the account owner will be able to invite up to 5 family members to share in a child’s vault — grandparents, a co-parent, an aunt or uncle who never misses a match. Invited members will get view, react and comment access only: they will be able to enjoy the memories and add a bit of warmth, but not change the vault, add or delete content, or manage the subscription — that will stay with the owner. The owner will be able to revoke access at any time, and when they do, that member will lose access straight away.
We’ll update these terms before Family Sharing goes live, so you can read exactly what it does before anyone is invited to anything.
9Acceptable use & reporting
PlayerVault is a home for your family’s football memories, and we keep it that way. There is zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behaviour. You must not use PlayerVault to store, share or send anything that is unlawful, abusive, harassing, hateful, or that exploits or endangers a child in any way, and you must not misuse another person’s content or harass anyone.
To report content, behaviour, or any safety concern, email hello@playervaultapp.com. That inbox is monitored by a real person, it is the right route for anything urgent, and you can use it whether or not you hold an account. We review every report we receive. Where something breaches these terms we will act on it — removing the content, and suspending or terminating the account responsible. We treat reports involving a child as the most serious thing we deal with, and we act on them promptly.
Reporting and blocking inside the app are not built yet. They arrive alongside Family Sharing, because until a vault can be shared there is no one else’s content in your account to report and no one to block — today you are the only person who can see or add anything. Until then, the inbox above is the reporting route, and it is a real one.
10Our intellectual property
While your content is yours, the app itself is ours. The PlayerVault software, the PlayerVault name and logo, the design, and the templates and layouts we build into the app belong to PlayerVault Ltd (or our licensors) and are protected by law. You’re welcome to use them as part of using the app, but please don’t copy, resell or pass them off as your own.
11Privacy
How we collect, use and protect your family’s information is set out in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms. As above, PlayerVault Ltd is the data controller for the information the app holds about your child, and your child is the person that information is about — the Privacy Policy explains exactly what that means, what we do with it, and the rights that come with it.
12Ending your subscription or account
You can stop using PlayerVault whenever you like. If you hold a paid subscription once they are available, you can end it by turning off auto-renew or cancelling in your App Store account settings (see the subscriptions section above) — you’ll keep your paid features until the end of the period you’ve paid for, and the app carries on working with its free features after that.
To delete your account entirely, you can do so in the app, or email us at hello@playervaultapp.com. Deleting your account removes your content from PlayerVault in line with our Privacy Policy, so please export or save anything you want to keep first — the app has an Export your data option under Profile for exactly this. We may also suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaches these terms, and we’ll tell you why where we’re able to.
13Disclaimers & liability
We work hard to keep PlayerVault safe, reliable and available. But no app can promise to be perfect or available every second, so we provide PlayerVault as it is and can’t guarantee it will always be uninterrupted or error-free. Please don’t rely on PlayerVault as the only copy of anything irreplaceable — keep your own copies of the photos and videos that matter most to you, as you would with any app.
To the extent the law allows, we won’t be liable for losses we couldn’t reasonably have foreseen, or for things outside our reasonable control. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes any liability that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded — including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for your rights as a consumer under UK law, which always stand.
14Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time — for example, if we add features or the law changes. When we make a meaningful change, we’ll update the “Last updated” date at the top and let you know in the app or by email before it takes effect. If you carry on using PlayerVault after a change, that means you accept the updated terms. If you don’t agree with a change, you’re free to cancel and close your account.
15Governing law & contact
These terms are governed by the laws of England & Wales, and any disputes will be dealt with by the courts of England & Wales.
If you have a question about these terms, or anything at all, email hello@playervaultapp.com — a real person will get back to you.
