1Who we are
PlayerVault is a mobile app that helps families capture and keep the moments of a young footballer’s journey — goals, milestones, photos, videos and memories — in one private, secure place.
The data controller responsible for your information is Dorran Noel, trading as DizTech Solutions (PlayerVault), West Yorkshire, United Kingdom. For any privacy matter you can reach us at privacy@playervaultapp.com.
At launch, PlayerVault is available only to users in the United Kingdom. This policy is written to UK law. If we expand to other countries, we will update this policy and our practices accordingly.
2Our privacy-first approach
PlayerVault is built around a simple principle: your child’s memories belong to your family, and no one else. We designed the app to collect as little as possible and to keep you in control of everything.
3Information we collect
The parent or guardian is always the account holder, and always the one who enters information — the child never has an account or enters data themselves.
The two subsections below describe what the app itself will collect once it launches — none of this is collected today.
Account information Future — not yet collected
You can sign up in one of three ways: Continue with Apple, Continue with Google, or email and password. If you sign in with Apple and choose Apple’s “Hide My Email”, we never receive your real email address — only a private relay address. We store the minimum needed to operate your account, such as a user identifier and the email or relay address associated with your chosen sign-in method.
Information about your child Future — not yet collected
So you can build your child’s journey, the app stores information you choose to enter about them, which may include:
- Their name
- Age band (we deliberately use an age band, not a full date of birth)
- Playing position and squad number
- Club history (we record month and year only, not exact dates)
- Photos and videos you upload, and notes or milestones you add
These privacy-minimising choices — age band instead of date of birth, month/year-only club dates — are deliberate, to hold as little identifying information about a child as possible.
4Children’s data & the Children’s Code Future — not yet applicable
This section describes how the app will handle children’s data once it launches; no child or player data is collected today. PlayerVault stores information about children, entered and controlled by their parent or guardian. We take this responsibility seriously and have designed the app to align with the ICO’s Age Appropriate Design Code (Children’s Code).
- The parent or guardian is the data controller’s primary user and the person in control of the account; the child is the data subject.
- Children do not have their own account or login in the current version of the app.
- We apply data minimisation by default — age band rather than date of birth, month/year rather than exact dates.
- There are no public profiles, no social feed, and no cross-user discovery. Nothing about your child is ever visible to other users or the public.
- We do not profile children or use their information for marketing.
5Why we use your information
Today, in our pre-launch phase, we use the information you give us (your email, and name if provided) for one purpose only: to send you launch and early-access updates.
Once the app launches Future — not yet applicable, we will also use information to:
- Create and secure your account and let you sign in
- Store, organise and display the memories and profile you create
- Let you invite a small number of family members to your account
- Provide customer support when you contact us
- Operate subscriptions and process payments (handled by Apple — see section 10)
- Keep the app secure, working and reliable
- Meet our legal obligations
6Lawful bases for processing
The table below sets out the lawful bases that will apply once the app is live Future — most rows not yet applicable:
| Purpose | Lawful basis |
|---|---|
| Creating your account & providing the app’s core features | Performance of a contract |
| Storing photos, videos and memories of your child | Consent (which you can withdraw at any time) |
| Securing the app & preventing misuse | Legitimate interests |
| Marketing emails / early access list | Consent |
| Meeting legal & regulatory duties | Legal obligation |
Today, in our pre-launch phase, the only row that already applies is “Marketing emails / early access list” — see section 14.
7Sharing & disclosure Future — not yet applicable
This section describes how the app will handle sharing once it launches. We do not sell your data. We do not share your child’s memories with clubs, coaches, academies, or anyone outside your family.
Club names you enter are simply free text you type — there is no integration with real clubs, no club-verified badges, and no public club directory.
The only sharing that happens is the sharing you choose: as the account owner, you can invite up to five family members to view the account. That is sharing within your own family — not with any third party.
We use a small number of trusted infrastructure providers to run the app (for example, secure cloud hosting and Apple for payments). These providers process data on our behalf under contract and cannot use it for their own purposes. We may also disclose information if required by law.
8Location & photo metadata Future — not yet applicable
We don’t track your location. The app has no GPS tracking, no maps, and no check-in feature.
The only location-adjacent data involved is the metadata (EXIF) that your phone may store inside a photo — such as when and where it was taken. When you add a photo, the app may read this to suggest a date, but this stays under your control and you can override or remove it. Your photo metadata stays with you.
9Analytics & tracking
No third-party tracking or fingerprinting. PlayerVault does not use advertising SDKs or cross-app tracking tools. We do not allow third parties to track you across other apps and websites.
Where we use analytics to understand how the app is performing, we do so using first-party, privacy-respecting methods only, and never to build advertising profiles. [Specific analytics tooling to be confirmed and named here before launch.]
10Payments & subscriptions Future — not yet applicable
PlayerVault offers a free tier and optional paid subscriptions. Any purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store using Apple’s in-app purchase system. We never see or store your card details — Apple handles all payment information under its own privacy policy. We receive only the information needed to activate and manage your subscription.
11Data retention Future — app account retention
Once the app launches: we will keep your information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your personal data and your child’s memories, except where we are legally required to keep certain records (for example, basic transaction records for tax purposes). [Exact retention periods to be confirmed before launch.]
For how long we keep your email address today, during our pre-launch phase, see section 14.
12How we protect your data
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to keep your information secure, including encryption in transit, access controls, and trusted, security-vetted infrastructure providers. No system is ever completely risk-free, but protecting your family’s memories is central to how we’ve built PlayerVault.
13Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you and your child
- Correct inaccurate information
- Delete your data (“right to erasure”)
- Restrict or object to certain processing
- Request a copy of your data in a portable format
- Withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on consent
To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@playervaultapp.com. You also have the right to complain to the UK’s Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
14Early access waitlist
This section covers our early access email list collected through this website — which is separate from the app itself, and is the only data we collect during our pre-launch phase.
Joining the early access list does not commit you to anything, and the terms of early access (including any pricing) will be confirmed before launch.
- Lawful basis for email updates: consent (UK GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)).
- Retention: we keep your email until you unsubscribe or until launch onboarding, after which it is deleted if you don’t create an account.
- Right to withdraw: you can unsubscribe via the link in any email, or by contacting privacy@playervaultapp.com.
We use reCAPTCHA on our sign-up forms to help protect the website from spam and abuse. reCAPTCHA may set a necessary cookie for risk analysis.
15Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make a significant change, we will update the “last updated” date and, where appropriate, notify you in the app or by email.
16Contact & complaints
For any privacy question, request, or concern, contact us at privacy@playervaultapp.com. If you are not satisfied with our response, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK’s data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk.
