1Who we are & agreeing to these terms
PlayerVault is made by PlayerVault Ltd, a company registered in England & Wales under company number 13160985, with its registered office at 61 Bridge Street, Kington, HR5 3DJ, England. When these terms say “we”, “us” or “our”, that’s who we mean. “You” is the parent or guardian using the app.
These terms are the agreement between you and us for using the PlayerVault app and this website. By creating an account or using the app, you’re telling us you’ve read them and you agree to them. If there’s a bit you’re not happy with, please email us before you sign up — and if you don’t agree, that’s completely fine, but you won’t be able to use PlayerVault.
2Who can use PlayerVault
PlayerVault is for grown-ups looking after children, not for children themselves. To hold an account you must:
- be 18 or over; and
- be the parent or legal guardian of the child whose football journey you’re recording.
Children don’t get their own accounts and can’t log in themselves. A child is the person the memories are about — never the person in charge of the account. If you’re not the child’s parent or legal guardian, PlayerVault isn’t the right tool for you.
3What PlayerVault does
PlayerVault is a private iOS app for parents and guardians to capture, organise and preserve a child’s grassroots football journey — the photos, videos, milestones and stats that would otherwise get lost in a camera roll. It’s a keepsake, built to be looked back on for years. It isn’t a social network, and nothing you put in it is public by default.
4Your account & keeping it secure
You’ll need an account to use PlayerVault. Please give us accurate details when you sign up and keep them up to date. You’re responsible for what happens under your account, so keep your sign-in details and your device secure — the memories in here are precious and personal.
If you think someone else has got into your account, tell us as soon as you can at hello@playervaultapp.com and we’ll help you put it right.
5You as the account holder
You’re in control of your child’s data. You decide what goes in, who’s invited to see it, and when to take it out. In privacy terms, you are the data controller for your child’s information and your child is the data subject — more on that in our Privacy Policy.
With that control comes a responsibility, and it’s an important one:
- You confirm you have the right to upload images and videos of your own child.
- If other children appear in what you upload — teammates, opponents, friends — you’re responsible for having whatever permission is needed from their parents or guardians before you add them, and for using those images sensibly and only within your own family’s vault.
- You’re responsible for any other consents the law requires for the content you add.
We can’t give this permission on your behalf, and we trust you to look after other people’s children in your content the way you’d want yours looked after.
6Subscriptions & payments
You can use PlayerVault on the Free tier for £0, or upgrade to a paid plan for more space and features. There’s a 7-day free trial on the paid plans so you can try before you commit.
Free
Parent Premium
or £49.99/year
Family Premium
or £89.99/year
All paid plans are purchased and billed through the Apple App Store using your Apple Account — we never see or handle your card details.
Auto-renewal — please read
Paid subscriptions renew automatically. Unless you cancel, your plan will renew at the end of each period and your Apple Account will be charged the price above for the next period.
Your Apple Account is charged when a trial ends and rolls into a paid plan, and again at the start of each renewal. Renewal happens unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the current period ends. If you’re on a free trial and don’t cancel at least 24 hours before it ends, it becomes a paid subscription automatically.
You can manage or cancel your subscription any time in your App Store account settings (Settings → your name → Subscriptions on your iPhone). Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep your paid features until the end of the period you’ve already paid for.
Refunds are handled by Apple under the App Store’s terms, not by us — if you’d like a refund, please request it through Apple.
7Your content
Your memories are yours. You keep full ownership of everything you add to PlayerVault — the photos, videos, notes, milestones and stats. Adding them here doesn’t change that.
To actually run the app for you, we need your permission to handle your content in a few limited ways. So you grant us a limited licence to store, back up, process and display your content — but only so we can provide PlayerVault to you and to the family members you’ve invited. That’s the whole extent of it. To be completely clear:
- We never sell your content or your family’s data.
- We never use it to train machine-learning or AI models.
- We never make it public — it stays private to you and the people you invite.
The licence lasts only as long as you keep the content in PlayerVault. When you delete something, or close your account, that permission ends too.
8Family Sharing
On Family Premium, the account owner can invite up to 5 family members to share in a child’s vault — grandparents, a co-parent, an aunt or uncle who never misses a match.
Invited members get view, react and comment access only. They can enjoy the memories and add a bit of warmth, but they can’t change the vault, add or delete content, or manage the subscription — that stays with the owner. The owner can revoke access at any time, and when they do, that member loses access straight away.
9Acceptable use & reporting
PlayerVault is a home for your family’s football memories, and we keep it that way. There is zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behaviour. You must not use PlayerVault to store, share or send anything that is unlawful, abusive, harassing, hateful, or that exploits or endangers a child in any way, and you must not misuse another person’s content or harass other members.
We give you tools to keep your space safe: you can report content and block users from within the app. We review reports and, where something breaches these terms, we may remove the content or suspend or terminate the account responsible. We act on reports of objectionable content and abusive users promptly.
To report content or behaviour, or to raise a safety concern, email our monitored inbox at hello@playervaultapp.com and a real person will look into it.
10Our intellectual property
While your content is yours, the app itself is ours. The PlayerVault software, the PlayerVault name and logo, the design, and the templates and layouts we build into the app belong to PlayerVault Ltd (or our licensors) and are protected by law. You’re welcome to use them as part of using the app, but please don’t copy, resell or pass them off as your own.
11Privacy
How we collect, use and protect your family’s information is set out in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms. As above, you are the data controller for your child’s data and your child is the data subject — the Privacy Policy explains exactly what that means and the rights that come with it.
12Ending your subscription or account
You can stop using PlayerVault whenever you like. To end a paid subscription, turn off auto-renew or cancel in your App Store account settings (see the subscriptions section above) — you’ll keep your paid features until the end of the period you’ve paid for, then move to the Free tier.
To delete your account entirely, you can do so in the app, or email us at hello@playervaultapp.com. Deleting your account removes your content from PlayerVault in line with our Privacy Policy, so please export or save anything you want to keep first. We may also suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaches these terms, and we’ll tell you why where we’re able to.
13Disclaimers & liability
We work hard to keep PlayerVault safe, reliable and available, and to keep your memories backed up. But no app can promise to be perfect or available every second, so we provide PlayerVault as it is and can’t guarantee it will always be uninterrupted or error-free. Please keep your own copies of anything truly irreplaceable.
To the extent the law allows, we won’t be liable for losses we couldn’t reasonably have foreseen, or for things outside our reasonable control. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes any liability that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded — including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for your rights as a consumer under UK law, which always stand.
14Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time — for example, if we add features or the law changes. When we make a meaningful change, we’ll update the “Last updated” date at the top and let you know in the app or by email before it takes effect. If you carry on using PlayerVault after a change, that means you accept the updated terms. If you don’t agree with a change, you’re free to cancel and close your account.
15Governing law & contact
These terms are governed by the laws of England & Wales, and any disputes will be dealt with by the courts of England & Wales.
If you have a question about these terms, or anything at all, email hello@playervaultapp.com — a real person will get back to you.
